Black apron

A traditional and always winning combination. The black and white combination gives the interior a graphic and noble look. In addition, the dark adds depth to the space, creating the impression that there is more space than there actually is.

The most common option for creating a black apron is ceramic tile. This is a wear-resistant and environmentally friendly material that does not require complex maintenance.

Another way to create a luxurious monochrome interior is to use a ready-made MDF board, which can reproduce any texture. A partition with imitation black granite looks very advantageous: acrylic stone or quartz agglomerate are best suited for these purposes.

For a more laconic and strict design of a white kitchen, a skinali is suitable: a single-color graphite apron made of durable glass will make a white kitchen more contrasting. Its only drawback is the glossy surface, on which any dirt is clearly visible.

Apron made of figured tiles

Decorating the cooking area with non-standard ceramic tiles is an original way to turn a white kitchen into one of the main decorations of the apartment. Such an apron will definitely not go unnoticed by guests and will please the owners for a long time.

Hexagons, triangles, diamonds, “scales” and elements with patterned edges look attractive and make the kitchen environment original.

But laying figured tiles requires more skill, time and perfectly aligned walls.

When choosing such active tiles, it is important to maintain a balance: do not overload the work surface and walls with decor. White facades are the best way to balance an unusually designed partition wall.

Neutral apron

If the goal of the project is to create a calm, cozy atmosphere without bright details, a good way to achieve this is to use discreet shades – beige and gray. Sand tones look great in kitchens designed in a classic style.

Gray shades look a little more strict and fit perfectly into all modern styles. Today, relief coatings imitating concrete or stone are at the peak of popularity.

But the most popular material for cladding the apron of a white kitchen is still snow-white ceramic tile. This budget solution is usually implemented in two versions: either square products or a rectangular “hog” are used. Such a kitchen does not have any individuality and is a ready-made design solution.

Glass apron

A practical glass apron, which is not afraid of moisture, dirt and high temperatures, serves as an alternative to classic tiles. The main advantage of tempered glass is the absence of seams, which makes it easier to maintain.

Turquoise wall under glass

A glass apron can protect a painted wall from splashes: this option is suitable for kitchens in a minimalist style, where an emphasis on the cooking area is undesirable. You can also place images, photographs, recipes and wallpaper under the glass.

In combination with a light set, a glass screen makes the room more airy: both the smooth surface and the white facades successfully reflect light, visually enlarging the kitchen.

A glossy countertop and apron, designed in a single color, look especially impressive.

Bright apron

If one of the functions of the apron is to add an accent, a rich color scheme will be a great way to liven up a neutral setting. To create a sunny mood, yellow, lemon and orange tones will do. To make the interior visually colder, blue and light blue shades are suitable.

A bold red color will emphasize the passionate nature of the kitchen owner, pink will add audacity to the decor, and green, personifying nature and spring, will give the interior freshness.

Marble apron

For noble interiors, the most suitable solution would be a material imitating natural stone. Natural marble is intended only for spacious rooms and is more appropriate in kitchens where little cooking is done.

Installing a heavy marble slab entails significant costs and complications, in addition, natural stone is inferior to artificial stone in its performance characteristics.

The main requirement for imitation marble is high quality of the pattern. The apron will add a touch of luxury only if the texture is not repeated. The most budgetary and popular materials “under marble” are acrylic stone and porcelain stoneware.

Wood-like apron

Another trend in a modern white kitchen is wood paneling of the work area. This can be natural boards or lining, protected with water-repellent compounds, MDF panels with a wood texture or porcelain stoneware with a wood pattern.

Due to the use of white color, the wood looks especially light and solemn. It is perfect for reproducing Scandinavian and eco-style, as well as minimalism: wood makes a cold interior warmer and more cozy.

Kitchen apron with print

Despite their former popularity, aprons with photo printing on the skinali are no longer considered relevant. But if you dream of decorating your kitchen with an image, you should not give up the idea in favor of someone else’s opinion.

An alternative to glass and plastic can be a drawing on tiles: in a digital workshop, any image will be applied to matte white products using ultraviolet printing technology – all that remains is to fix it with a protective varnish.

Another way to make the white color of the kitchen set more interesting is to decorate the partition with ornaments. This could be tiles with floral patterns, geometric shapes or patchwork. In order not to overload the interior, it is important to choose neutral wall finishes and textiles.

Brick-like apron

Connoisseurs of brickwork use white to emphasize the texture of terracotta and brown coatings. An apron can be made not only from natural brick, having cleared the wall from plaster, but also imitated with gypsum tiles.

In both cases, the surface of the work area needs protection: it must be varnished in several layers or covered with glass. A kitchen with a brick apron looks stylish even without upper cabinets.

Instead of porous material, you can use a boar with a brick pattern: in difficult operating conditions, it shows itself much better and lasts longer than plaster.

Metal apron

One of the most relevant European trends today is the use of metal in finishing the work area. Aprons are made of stainless steel, copper and aluminum. They are made not only in the form of a solid smooth plate, but also in the form of rectangles, hexagons and mosaics.

Reflective metal in combination with white color allows you to visually enlarge a narrow kitchen. It is durable and resistant to high temperatures, and combines well with wood and stone. The surface can be glossy or matte.
