Vertical garden beds made from plastic containers and boxes

The optimal option is considered to be 30 – 50 cm. This will be enough to grow greenery or garden flowers, for example, petunias.

You can buy containers both in a gardening store and in any hardware store.

But you can make a whole flowering fence from plastic drink boxes. But it is important to think in advance about what flowers to plant so that it looks beautiful. I recommend paying attention to petunias or geraniums, when they grow, they will completely hide the boxes and it will look more aesthetically pleasing.

Seedlings in pallets

This version of a vertical bed requires a minimum of effort, time and expense. It is suitable for planting flowers, herbs or strawberries.

You just need to place the pallet vertically and lean it against any support that can withstand its weight. In order not to worry about your seedlings, I recommend additionally strengthening the top of the pallet by screwing it with screws or bolts.

Additionally, you will need to devote time to creating unique pockets from agrofibre for each bed. This way, the soil will not settle and spill over time.

If desired, the pallet can be treated with a protective compound so that the wood does not deteriorate due to frequent contact with water, and then painted in any color.

Beds made of reinforcing mesh

Good beds are made from reinforcing mesh, it is inexpensive and sold in every hardware store. You can grow not only flowers and greens on them, but even potatoes, mushrooms and strawberries.

In addition, such vertical beds take up little space and, if desired, they can be moved from one place to another.

Barrel beds

Having stopped your attention on this option, remember that metal barrels are not suitable for vertical beds, as they heat up a lot. In this case, products made of wood and plastic are better suited.

You need to insert a watering hose into the center of the barrel, in which you need to make holes in advance. And the seedlings need to be made as the barrel is filled. Climbing plants, such as cucumbers, are best squeezed only from above.

Water Bottles

This option is considered the most budget-friendly, since plastic bottles can definitely be found at any dacha, and in abundance.

A more complex version of vertical beds to make, but very beautiful. From bamboo trunks of different thicknesses, a stand is woven and improvised balconies are made for flowerpots or herbs. And if you want, you can even grow strawberries, peas, cucumbers and beans there.

For mini-beds, you can take thick bamboo, cut off one side, fill it with soil and connect several similar tiers together.

Plastic pipes

Vertical beds made of plastic pipes are a favorite option for many experienced gardeners, since they can be used to make structures of varying complexity.
