What is a cornice?
A cornice is a decorative element, which is a crossbar or a busbar structure above the window for attaching curtains.

Types of device
There are two types of device.
Telescopic (sliding)
Multifunctional spacer design. Unlike rod curtain rods, it does not need to be filed to fit the desired size, it is enough to simply fold or unfold this model for several meters or centimeters.
Rotating
Such rods open and close like sashes. Usually these models are chosen for window openings located deep in the wall or for blind PVC plastic windows.

Electric curtain rod
A structure with an aluminum base, equipped with an automatic mechanism, thanks to which it is possible to adjust the position of the curtains without much effort. This is especially convenient when the curtain rod is fixed at a great height.
Mechanical (manual)
Control is carried out using a cord. Suitable for regular medium and heavy curtains, including Roman and roller blinds.
Classification by number of rows
Products are divided into several types.
Single-row
Such models are chosen when you plan to use only one type of curtains.
Double-row
The most popular option today. Compared to single-row and other models, the double cornice has the most optimal width for decorative purposes.
Three-row
An indispensable decor for updating the interior. With this design, you can create unique combinations of curtains or tulle, complementing them with majestic lambrequins.

Each shape can emphasize not only the beauty of the curtains, but also make them functional.
Straight
The simplest, most standard and familiar shape. Attaches to the wall with screws.
Corner

Hidden
Will not distract attention from the design of the curtains. Canvases flowing from under the ceiling with a hidden cornice look especially elegant and graceful.
Mounting points
According to the mounting point, all models are divided into two groups.
Ceiling
Visually increases the height of the room and makes it more majestic. When the cornice is located from wall to wall, a truly festive atmosphere is created. The only disadvantage of the ceiling design is that it cannot withstand heavy weight.
Wall-mounted
Used for suspended or stretch ceilings. The choice is also influenced by the model of curtains, for example, for some, only wall-mounted options are used.
