Height of installation of direct hood above the stove
- For gas stoves, the height of the hood above the work surface should be in the range from 75 to 85 cm.
- For electric or induction stoves, the installation height can be lower – from 65 to 75 cm.
Installation height of an inclined hood above the stove
Inclined hoods have recently become widespread. They are more aesthetically pleasing and fit better into modern interior styles. For them, the installation height is slightly less:
- for gas stoves – 55-65 cm,
- for electric and induction stoves – 35-45 cm.
Why is it important to adhere to installation heights?
It is very important to install the hood at the height recommended by the manufacturer – only in this case it will work for a long time and effectively clean the air from soot and fat droplets formed during cooking.
Installation at a lower height can cause a fire, will interfere with cooking and will not look aesthetically pleasing. Too high a height will not allow you to capture all the contaminants entering the air, and the efficiency of the hood will decrease.
Installing a socket for the hood
The location of the socket where it will be connected depends on the height of the hood installation above the stove. Usually, the socket is mounted directly above the hood. A good option is to fix the socket above the line of wall cabinets by about 10-30 cm. In this case, do not forget to shift the hole for the socket 20 cm to the side from the axis of symmetry of the hood, since the exhaust duct runs through the center.
