Features of choice
Ready-made kitchens really make the process of ordering furniture easier. But in order not to regret the chosen set, pay attention to important nuances:
- Size. Measurements include not only the dimensions of the room in length, width, height. It is also important to take into account the location of openings (doors, windows), communications, sockets.
- Layout. Decide what kind of kitchen you need – straight, corner, double-row, U-shaped, island, two-level or single-tier.
- Style. An important component of furniture – do you prefer classic shapes with chamfers or minimalist design in gloss?
- Equipment. Consider all electrical appliances for which you need to provide space. Refrigerator, hob, oven, dishwasher and washing machine.
- Storage. It is clear that the more things you plan to store, the more IKEA cabinets you should have. But also pay attention to the fittings: do you need a railing, a waste sorting solution, a carousel in the corner module?
Pros and cons
Some people furnish their entire apartment with IKEA furniture, guided by low prices and a stylish appearance. Others do not like this store at all. One way or another, IKEA kitchens have both advantages and disadvantages.
- Assortment. IKEA kitchens fit many styles: classic, Scandi, modern, country.
- Prefabricated system. You can choose from a huge number of cabinets, differing in size and filling.
- European quality. Materials and fittings undergo many tests before they end up on display.
- Ease of assembly. You can handle the installation even without skills and special tools.
- Ease of repair. Need to change the fittings or the facade? Everything can be bought in the store.
- Possibility of additional fittings. Decided to add a couple of cabinets? Purchase and delivery will not take much time.
- Modest type. Still, Ikea’s discreet design is not suitable for everyone, if you want something original – order the kitchen elsewhere.
- One size. Although there are many options for drawers, they cannot be compared with a built-in kitchen for your room. This is especially important for rooms of non-standard shape and size.
- Production features. For example, a thin 2 mm edge on the ends of the countertop instead of the standard 4 mm.
- Lack of fittings. You will not find fasteners for wall panels, end strips for the countertop and some other small things.
What kitchens are there in IKEA and what equipment do they have?
In general, all kitchens of the brand are divided into ready-made and modular. In the first case, everything is already assembled, you only have to pay, bring it home and assemble it. On the one hand, it is simple, on the other hand, it does not take into account the features of your apartment and the needs of your household.
You assemble a modular kitchen yourself or with the help of a consultant (we strongly recommend using the help of a professional) from many boxes. Here, the size of the room, all your desires and needs are taken into account. During the development of the project, the kitchen can be immediately supplemented with built-in appliances, assembling a turnkey set.

What materials are kitchens made of?
When talking about Ikea kitchens, the first thing to talk about is quality. All materials from which the cabinets are made are tested for resistance to mechanical damage, temperature changes, and humidity.
The bodies of all IKEA models are made of 18 mm chipboard (the standard thickness in other brands is 16 mm).
The facades depend on the series:
- chipboard in film is mainly used (Ringult, Tingsried, Kallarp, Häggeby and others);
- MDF or fiberboard in the same film or durable enamel is less common (Budbin, Edserum, Sevedal);
- the most expensive is solid wood with natural veneer (Lerhuttan, Torkhamn, Ekestad).
Painted fiberboard is mainly used for the back walls.

What colors do they come in?
To find out what colors are available, just go to the website store. First of all, it should be said that Ikea is a triumph of Scandinavian style, so white, milky and gray are a priority here. But even if you don’t like Scandi, these shades are universal. They look equally good in minimalism, classics, and modernism.
Another popular option is facades with imitation or natural wood texture. They will suit both Scandinavian and classic interiors, as well as country.

Do beige, white or grey seem boring to you? We have bright and dark models in our range: for example, Kungsbacka anthracite, dark green Budbin, red-brown Kallarp, blue Ersta, olive Maximera.

Overview of the Method kitchen series
The IKEA kitchen has taken modular furniture to a new level: you can choose the types, sizes, number of cabinets, their contents, the type / color of the facade and assemble your own unique set. The manufacturer provides a 25-year warranty for all Method kitchens, so you don’t have to worry about quality.
Budbin
Available in 3 colors: white, gray and green. Matte facades with a wide frame will fit into both classic and Scandi styles. The standard set includes additional features such as glazed doors, open cabinets, wall shelves, decorative plinths, legs, and cornices.
Ringult
Light gloss is a great choice for a small area. It reflects light and makes the room look larger. The outer film is moisture-resistant and easy to clean.

Kallarp
A bright glossy kitchen, in 2020 presented in a noble red-brown shade. Dark color will decorate a large room, for example a studio.
Vokstorp
Looks equally good in both glossy and matte film. It features rounded integrated handles, so it is suitable for minimalism or modernism.
Häggeby
Matte, white, minimalist – just what you need for a simple functional interior. The melamine film surface is easy to clean, protected from moisture and mechanical impacts.

Bodarp
For those who care about the environment: the film was created from recycled plastic, and the facades themselves are produced at a plant that runs on renewable energy. The color is matte gray-green – it looks ultra-modern.
Kungsbacka
The matte anthracite film is also made from recycled materials. Make your home more environmentally friendly!

Lerhuttan
You can’t get any darker! The black Ikea set is both a bit rustic (due to the tall glass cabinets) and classic (thanks to the traditional shapes). It goes well with the black VADHOLMA island. It is made of solid ash and ash veneer.
Edserum
Classic doors in frames, covered with a film with imitation wood. It looks traditional and thanks to the film coating it is easy to maintain.
Sevedal
An example of an IKEA kitchen that reflects the essence of Swedish design. Laconic, but with a twist in the form of simple wide frames along the contour.
Hitharp
Matte white fronts with grooves seem to make the kitchen higher. If your apartment has low ceilings, this is the option you need!
Tingsried
The melamine film under the black wood creates a realistic imitation of natural material, due to which the kitchen looks noble and expensive. If desired, complement with a bar counter or a Sturnes table. Light analogue – Askersund with figurative imitation of light wooden texture of ash.
Torhamn
Doors made of solid wood with panels made of ash veneer. Each facade is unique, which adds luxury to the overall look of the set. Unusual glass with a mesh is ideal for a loft-style kitchen.
Types of ready-made IKEA kitchens
Are there IKEA sets that do not need to be designed? Ready-made solutions are presented in two versions: the metal mini-kitchen Sunnerstva and the traditional Knoxhult.
Sunnerst
A mini version that is ideal for a rented apartment or as an idea for a summer veranda in a country house, at a dacha. It is inexpensive, easy to buy, decorate and install, and if you need to move, you can assemble it and take it with you to a new home. The design, although unusual for many, looks modern.

Knoxhult
A simple, inexpensive classic kitchen that is versatile and easy to assemble. The modules are ready-made, it remains to choose their composition, select equipment, a sink, furniture handles, accessories. An excellent budget option that can be installed without the help of professionals.
