Use a top-loading machine
It takes up a third less space than a regular front-loading version and will fit into even the smallest bathroom. It can be installed close to the sink or shower stall, because the loading and unloading of laundry occurs through the top.
Among the disadvantages is the inability to hang a wall cabinet on top and the high cost (compared to classic analogues).
But you can place a heated towel rail above such a machine.
Place under the sink
An excellent solution for small bathrooms. For ease of use, its dimensions should be slightly larger than the machine box on each side. The space required to install the drainage system is minimal, 10-15 cm will be enough, so all family members will be able to use the sink.
This solution was discussed in detail in a separate article.
Such models of sinks are inexpensive and easy to use
In place of the bathtub (using a shower cabin)
A compact shower cabin will help free up additional space in the bathroom. This option is suitable for those who prefer a 10-minute shower to an hour of relaxation in a foam bath. The space along the wall, freed up after dismantling the bathtub, will accommodate a shower cabin, a washing machine, and shelves above it.
The compact arrangement frees up space for movement.
Place under the countertop
With this layout, the washing machine, sink and end of the bathtub are located along one wall close to each other. A countertop located above the washing machine and under the sink will help to use the space with benefit.
You can also screw a suspended sink directly above the bathtub, but this option for organizing the space will not appeal to everyone.
In this case, it is not the sink that hangs over the bathtub, but the countertop. There is now storage space below.
Put it in a closet
A practical way for a small area is to put a washing machine in the lower section of a tall cabinet with shelves. And place household chemicals and towels on the shelves. This option is best suited for combined bathrooms.
Put on a cabinet or podium
Mounting a washing machine on a podium is a non-standard solution that provides new storage space both below and above. If you cannot install a podium, you can consider a cabinet – this is a ready-made and beautiful solution. The only thing is, you will need to guess the size.
The main advantage is the more convenient operation of the machine – you do not have to bend over.
Attach to the wall
This is a rather rare option, but it exists and perhaps it will suit you. This is explained by the high price of the machine itself and the complexity of installation. However, the machine is quite light and almost does not vibrate, so the likelihood of it falling is low.
In a niche
In most Khrushchev-era buildings, it is possible to make a small niche using a ledge in the corridor. Later, this ledge will be perfectly hidden by a built-in closet or hallway. The niche will give the bathroom additional space above the washing machine. It can be used to place a vertical cabinet or a wall-mounted rack.

You can install a washing machine even in the smallest bathroom, but in most cases this will require a small redevelopment from the owners. The main condition is that the bathroom should be comfortable for all family members.
