Installation location
As a rule, in every apartment and especially in every house there are doors that are not functionally needed. Such doors are usually those between the entrance and living areas, between the kitchen and dining room, kitchen and living room. By removing unnecessary partitions and doors and erecting arched structures instead, you can expand the space, increase the usable area of each of the functional zones, and get a more interesting, original interior.

Types of materials
In order for interior arches in apartments to look organic, it is necessary to select the material for them taking into account the design features of the walls. The design of the arch, its size and shape are also of great importance. Each material provides its own possibilities, and at the same time imposes certain restrictions. The following materials are most often used to build arches:
- plasterboard;
- wood;
- brick;
- stone;
- metal profile;
- plastic;
- glass.
Plasterboard
Using plasterboard is the easiest, fastest and most inexpensive way to build an arch. The arch is covered with plasterboard sheets cut to pattern, and then finished on top in accordance with the chosen design. This type of finishing can be done with different types of plaster, wooden panels, mosaic panels, decorative panels imitating stone, marble, wood or brick, as well as lightweight synthetic stone.

A brick arch can become the main decorative accent of a modern minimalist interior, and you can leave it “as is”, or paint it to match the walls or in a contrasting color. It would be a good idea to treat the surface of the bricks with special compounds to protect them from dirt and make cleaning easier.
