1. Measure the bottom diameter, height and circumference of our pot. Cut out two pieces from the fabric:
– a circle 4 cm larger than the bottom diameter;
– a rectangle 8 cm larger in height and 4 cm larger in width.

2. We fasten the elements with rough stitches or pins, fixing the sides and the bottom.

3. Carefully stitch the blank using a sewing machine.

4. We make a lining from oilcloth according to the same principle, but a little smaller in size – so that it fits into the fabric cover.

5. We put the oilcloth part inside the fabric cover. We secure it with pins and stitch it on a sewing machine.

6. To decorate a ready-made flowerpot, you can sew handles to it from the same material or jute rope.

Plywood flowerpot

Wood is a fertile material, but an even more reliable and simple way to decorate an unsightly pot is to use plywood. It is cheaper, thinner, easier to process and is practically not afraid of moisture.

Tools and materials

• A piece of plywood – the size and thickness depends on the dimensions of your pot. The box can be not only square, but also rectangular.
• Jigsaw.
• Wood stain.
• Nail gun or hammer and small nails.
• Sandpaper.
• Film – if there is no pot and you want to pour soil into the box.
• Plant.
• White acrylic paint and a brush.

Let’s start creating:

1. Cut the plywood with a jigsaw. This is the most labor-intensive process, so you can order sawing into long boards in the store, and make short cuts yourself at home.

2. Assemble 5 parts using nails and a hammer. The sides should overlap the bottom.
