From soda and vinegar

The most budget-friendly and quick way to clean a toilet is with balls made from vinegar and soda. The ingredients can almost always be found in the kitchen, and the preparation time will only take a few minutes.

  1. For 1 glass of soda, take half a glass of vinegar and 50 grams of citric acid.
  2. Add a few drops of essential oils if desired.
  3. Mix the soda with citric acid, slowly add vinegar, teaspoon at a time.
  4. Mix the mixture thoroughly each time. As a result, the base should acquire a thick consistency similar to wet sand.

You can roll small balls from the resulting mixture or, using a measuring spoon, silicone containers and molds for modeling, make original shaped bombs.

Cleaning balls

With hydrogen peroxide

Hydrogen peroxide is often used to clean and disinfect kitchen utensils, bathroom tiles and clean toilets. Balls made on its basis perfectly remove rust, plaque, quickly cope with organic contaminants.

  1. To prepare the base, you will need 1 tablespoon of 3% hydrogen peroxide, a quarter cup of citric acid, half a teaspoon of table vinegar and a glass of soda.
  2. In two different cups, combine soda with citric acid, and vinegar with hydrogen peroxide.
  3. Slowly pour the contents of the last container into the first, mixing thoroughly.
  4. To add aroma, add 20-30 drops of citrus or flower oils.
  5. Using a spoon, form small balls from the mixture.
  6. Place the blanks on parchment and leave for 8-10 hours until completely dry, and then put away in a place protected from moisture.

Toilet balls

Gelatin-based

Making gelatin-based balls is very similar to making jelly. You will need 50 grams of gelatin, 2 tablespoons of a 9% solution of vinegar, salt and soda and a glass of water at room temperature.

Pour the gelatin into the water and leave to swell for 20-30 minutes. Then place the container in a saucepan with hot water and, stirring, bring to a water bath until completely dissolved. It is important not to let the water boil, otherwise the mixture will not harden. After complete dissolution, strain the gelatin and mix with the remaining ingredients. If desired, add dyes and aromatic oils to impart a scent. Cool the resulting mixture and then divide it into small pieces ready for use.

Due to the high concentration of gelatin, the balls bear little resemblance to the usual “trembling” jelly. They have a fairly dense consistency, are easy to cut with a knife, while retaining their shape.

Gelatin in a water bath

With lemon juice and essential oils

Fragrant bombs based on lemon juice not only help get rid of plaque and deposits on plumbing, but also fill the room with freshness. You will be able to save on toilet stickers and air freshener.

Combine a glass of soda with a quarter of a glass of citric acid. Mix the mixture thoroughly, first pour in 100 ml of vinegar, and immediately after – 15-20 drops of lemon juice. When the base begins to thicken, add 20-30 drops of essential oils. To make the aroma harmonious, you can take several traditional combinations.

  • Ginger and patchouli;
  • Lavender and jasmine;
  • Mint and rosemary;
  • Lemon and ylang-ylang;
  • Rosewood and geranium, etc.

Lovers of original, pronounced aromas can experiment with a large number of components, as well as increase the dose of oils to 90 drops.

Ball mold

Based on laundry soap

Laundry soap is traditionally considered one of the most cheap bleaches, stain removers and degreasers. Toilet balls made from it have a cleaning and disinfecting effect and, with all their advantages, cost next to nothing.

Heat 3-4 tablespoons of grated soap in a water bath until completely melted. After removing from heat, add a glass of soda, 3 tablespoons of citric acid and 2 tablespoons of hydrogen peroxide to the container. Mix all the ingredients until a homogeneous mixture is formed. The resulting “dough” is rolled into balls or placed in a mold and left for 4-5 hours.

Shavings of laundry soap

Using starch

With your own hands, you can make not only white bomb balls, but also bright replacement blocks for containers on the rim of the toilet. You will need 30 grams of starch, 3 tablespoons of vinegar, 2 tablespoons of salt, half a glass of water and a few drops of essential oils of your choice.

Combine the starch, salt and water and mix thoroughly. Add a little food coloring to add color. Place the solution on low heat and bring to a boil. If the liquid has not thickened well, you can hold it for another 5-7 minutes, then remove it from the stove and cool it a little. Add vinegar and flavorings to the warm mixture. Form small balls that will dry at room temperature in 8-10 hours.

Toilet cleaning balls

The main advantage of homemade balls is that you can be absolutely sure of their composition. When using handmade bombs, allergic reactions and respiratory problems are excluded. Experimenting with aromatic additives, you can fill the toilet with a scent that you like, and not one produced for the mass consumer
