The designers chose warm light colors as the main ones for the design of a small apartment. Their combination with wooden surfaces creates coziness, and the bright yellow “spots” of decorative pillows enliven the interior.

In the furnishing of the main room of the apartment, which combines the functions of a dining room, living room and kitchen, the dominant item is a large sectional sofa, which can comfortably accommodate even a large family. Its upholstery includes two tones – gray and brown. The back of the sofa is turned towards the kitchen block and visually separates the living room and kitchen. The center of the composition is marked by a low furniture module that functions as a coffee table.

The wall opposite the sofa is finished with wood. It houses a TV panel, with hanging cabinets stretched out in a line underneath. The furniture composition ends with a bio-fireplace finished to look like marble.

The kitchen and living room in the apartment are united by color – the white facades of the cabinets echo the white shelves under the TV. There are no handles on them – the doors open with a simple push, which turns the kitchen furniture into “invisible” – it seems that it is just a wall finished with panels.

The role of decorative elements is played by black household appliances built into the cabinets – it echoes the color and design of the TV panel on the wall in the living room. The kitchen work area is equipped with lighting. The line of kitchen cabinets ends with a wooden shelving unit facing the living room – you can store books and decorative items in it.

The wooden “island” opposite the shelving unit also functions as a bar table, it is convenient to have a snack or drink coffee at it. In addition, there is a full-fledged dining area near the window: a large rectangular table is surrounded by four chairs of a laconic shape. An openwork suspension of metal rods above the table is responsible for lighting and serves as an interesting decorative accent.

Design of a kitchen-living room in a modern style in a two-room apartment of 45 sq. m.

The designers chose minimalism as the main style. Its main advantages are the ability to furnish small rooms and create a feeling of spaciousness and comfort in them. The predominance of white in the design helps to visually increase the space, and the use of dark tones as contrasting ones gives the interior volume and style.

White furniture against a dark wall creates a sense of depth and enhances expressiveness. The “hard” combination of black and white is softened by the texture of the wood, green accents of living plants and a warm yellow tone of the lighting add coziness to the room.

The living room is equipped with a dark-colored sofa, which stands out in contrast against the white floor and walls. Apart from it, the only other piece of furniture is a small rectangular coffee table. The lighting is designed in an unusual way: instead of the usual spotlights and chandeliers, lighting panels are built into the suspended ceiling.

The kitchen is raised on a podium. The furniture in it is arranged in the shape of the letter “G”. Here, white and black colors are also combined: white facades contrast with a black apron and the same color built-in appliances and work area countertop.

The apron is made of glossy tiles with a wavy surface that reflects light and scatters intricate highlights in different directions. The dining area is very small and almost invisible; space for it was allocated in the pier between the windows. A folding table and two comfortable chairs made of transparent plastic take up virtually no space and do not visually clutter the area.

Modern design of a living room combined with a kitchen in a studio apartment of 29 sq. m.

Since the area of the apartment is small, one room combines the functions of not only a living room and kitchen, but also a bedroom. The main piece of furniture is a transformable structure that includes a storage system, bookcases, a sofa, and a bed.

The structure is a wardrobe combined with a sofa, on which slats and an orthopedic mattress are placed at night. It is much more comfortable for sleeping than a pull-out sofa. Three small tables with glass tabletops have different shapes and heights, but are made of the same materials. They can be used for various purposes.

The interior is designed in light gray tones in combination with black, creating a graphic pattern and placing accents. Light green textiles add color and bring you closer to nature. The living room is formed by a sofa with a coffee table, a frameless armchair and a long, wall-length black cabinet opposite the sofa, on which the TV is installed.

The wall behind it is concrete, typical of loft-style design. Its brutal character is softened by the shine of chrome, live plants and watercolors in delicate tones. Loft-style lamps are suspended from the ceiling on metal guides painted black. Their direction brings dynamics and graphicity to the room.

The kitchen facades are matte, black. A separate cabinet had to be built for the oven, and additional storage systems were placed in it. Despite its modest size, the kitchen has all the necessary appliances.

The kitchen is visually separated from the living room by one of the tables with a glass top, the tallest one. Near it are bar stools, together they form a dining area. It is accented by pendants hanging from the ceiling, decorated with metal figures – they serve not only as lighting fixtures, but also as decor.

To create comfortable conditions for people living in the apartment, the designers moved the bedroom to the room intended for the kitchen, and used the freed up space to create a multifunctional space that combines several functions at once.

The main colors of the project are white and black, which is typical for the minimalist style. Red is chosen as an accent color, which adds brightness and expressiveness to the design. Quite an active combination of these three colors is softened by the texture of the wood, wooden surfaces are also a unifying element of the entire interior.

The sofa is the center of attraction of the common living area. Its design has a discreet gray upholstery, but stands out brightly due to the ornamented pillows. The sofa looks great against the white brick wall – a tribute to the fashionable loft style.

The kitchen and living room in the apartment are separated by a part of the wall – it is covered with black chalk paint, allowing you to leave notes, make shopping lists or decorate the interior design with drawings. A red refrigerator is adjacent to the wall on the living room side. Together with a woven cord chair and a sofa cushion of the same color, it adds brightness to the room’s design.

The ceiling is equipped with overhead and built-in lamps – lined up along the perimeter, they provide uniform overhead lighting. Sconces are placed on the middle line, responsible for the intimate lighting of the living room. Two pendants are placed above the dining area – they not only illuminate the dining table, but also help to visually separate the functional zones.

Kitchen-living room design in an apartment from PLASTERLINA studio

The kitchen is separated from the living room by an unusual partition wall. It is made of wood and resembles a wide wooden frame, on the upper part of which, on the kitchen side, a lighting line is fixed. In the lower part of the frame, a structure is mounted, which on the kitchen side is a storage system. Its “lid” is a work desk for the hostess.

An audio system and TV are mounted in the structure on the living room side. There is a narrow shelf above the countertop, and above that everything is free – thus, the kitchen and living room are simultaneously separated and visually united.

The main decorative element in the kitchen-living room design project is the design of the wall behind the sofa. A large map was placed on it, it is convenient to put flags on it, marking the countries where the owners of the apartment have already been.

The neutral color scheme creates a relaxing atmosphere and emphasizes the modern constructivism of the interior. At the junction of three functional zones – the entrance, living room and kitchen, there was room for a dining group. A simple rectangular wooden table is surrounded by Hee Welling chairs, often found in Scandinavian design.

Lighting is provided by round pendants – they are attached to the tracks on the ceiling and can easily move from the dining part of the room to the living room area, providing lighting for the storage system. The position of the dining area in such a place is very functional, table setting and subsequent cleaning are significantly easier.

Interior of a kitchen-living room in a modern style for an apartment of 50 sq. m.

The design is maintained in cool light colors typical of modern styles, but does not look overly strict due to the correct use of decorative accents and softening fabric decor elements.

In plan, the room has the shape of an elongated rectangle, which made it possible to divide it into separate zones – for this purpose, a glass sliding partition was installed. It can be folded, and in such a place it takes up very little space, or extended, if it is necessary to isolate the kitchen area when preparing food or to create an intimate atmosphere in the living room. The walls are painted in a light beige tone, the furniture contrasts with the walls, creating pleasant color combinations.

The living room area includes two separate sofas, one, dark gray, stands near the beige wall, on which a delicate watercolor drawing of a huge flower is applied. Another, linen-white, is located under the window, which can be covered with dark gray curtains. The contrast of the sofas with the background on which they are located creates an interesting interior effect in the design. In the center of the living room, on the floor covering imitating light wood, a thick milky-white carpet is laid, on which the dark square of the coffee table stands out in contrast.

The main secret of creating beautiful kitchen-living rooms is the competent selection of color combinations and individual furniture elements. In this case, the living room, in addition to sofas, is equipped with hanging furniture modules with white facades and dark brown shelves. Between them, a TV panel is fixed on the wall. Such an ascetic design could look too strict, if not for the romantic decoration – a delicate flower in pink tones behind the sofa, illuminated by an LED strip. In addition, the authors added a climbing green plant to the design, which brings an eco-note to the decor.

The kitchen part of the room is equipped with a corner set, into which all the necessary household appliances are built. Its facades are also white, echoing the facades of the furniture modules of the living room. The glass apron creates the impression of “invisibility”, behind it you can see a beige wall, but at the same time it adds luxury and shine. The white countertop is made of stone, polished to a mirror shine.

There is a bar counter between the kitchen and living room areas. It can be used both as a work surface and as a table for snacks or lunches. Glass pendant lights above it provide additional lighting and visually separate the kitchen from the living room. In addition, the dining area is additionally highlighted by the flooring – light-colored laminate.

Design project of a kitchen-living room in a Scandinavian style

While working on the project of this apartment, the designers discovered that the brick from which the walls are laid looks very impressive, and can be used as a decorative element in the future interior.

Having decided to combine the kitchen and living room in one volume, they did not completely dismantle the wall between them, but left a small part, which became the base of the kitchen island. It is a dining table, an additional work surface, and a decorative center of the entire kitchen design.

The design of the living room turned out to be very traditional, northern restrained, but having its own character. The white sofa would be almost invisible against the white walls if it weren’t for the colorful pillows, very bright and multi-colored.

Since the apartment is located in an old house, it has its own history, which the designers used in their project. They did not touch the ceiling moldings, preserving the atmosphere of the era, and added antiques to the interior.
