Installation on the ebb

Installing flower pots on the ebb without additional fastening is possible, but not always safe even with a large width of the outer window sill. For multi-storey buildings, such a design is highly undesirable.

If other options are not considered, but you want to plant a flower bed, you must at least follow the simplest safety measures:

  • The boxes should not extend beyond the edge of the window sill.
  • The surface of the ebb should not be too inclined. The slope can be adjusted with a wooden lath for the time of placing the boxes.
  • Tall and bushy plants should not be placed on the ebb. It is better to give preference to small succulents.

To prevent the box from sliding down, you can make a temporary fence from a horizontally stretched chain or strong thread.

Stationary fastening to the facade

The most reliable way to fasten structures for flower boxes and pots is stationary lattice or forged holders. They are screwed to the facade under the window and are not removed after the flowering period ends.

With this type of installation, it is important to mark the mounting locations in advance and select the optimal size. Too narrow borders will look unsightly, too wide ones will distract attention from the flowers.

Fastening to external slopes

Installing flower boxes on facade mounts under the window has one drawback – until the plants grow above the window line, it is impossible to enjoy them from the apartment. Low-growing flowers are not suitable for this design at all.

The problem is solved by placing the boxes on the ebb in a decorative lattice screwed to the slopes or using brackets. Installing such a design does not require special skills, it is enough to accurately measure the width of the window.

Removable baskets

When choosing a place to install flower containers, many people prefer balcony railings. They are easy to access, and you don’t have to drill into the facade or slopes to place flowers.

A basket holder is hung on the railings with two hooks, and a container with flowers is placed in it. The design is considered universal and is suitable for boxes of any size.

Metal balcony holders, treated with a protective coating, are not afraid of moisture and are invulnerable to rust. The maximum load is measured in tens of kilograms. This system is ideal for abundantly blooming pelargoniums, petunias, pansies.

Textile containers

Hanging textile bags have become an original solution for decorating a window and balcony. They can be attached to brackets, a window grille, or a wall-mounted flower stand used in the interior.

Flowers on a chain or bracket

If the opening depth allows, you can attach hangers for the flowerpots above the window. You will need hooks or decorative brackets on which the chain is mounted. During the period of active flowering, the flowerpot turns into a lush, fragrant cloud that pleases the eye.

Window bars

Metal bars that protect against burglary can also be used to create a window garden. Welded and forged structures with a puffy bottom are available on the market.

Several boxes with greenery or flowers can be placed without additional fastening. The curves and monograms of the lattice will become a support for hanging plants that have grown over the summer.

Mini-balcony for flowers

A flower balcony fits harmoniously into the exterior of a private house. The compact structure is made of wood or plastic in the color of the shutters or window frame. There is a niche inside for installing boxes and flower pots.

Such structures, fixed at the base of the windows, give the house a special aesthetic and a sense of habitability.

Pergola above the window

Decorative pergolas are found not only in the garden. Lattice structures framing windows will be a great decoration for the facade and support for climbing plants.

Decorative shutters

In a private house, cottage or summer house, the idea of a window flowerbed can be played up with decorative shutters. To prevent the sashes from swinging in the wind, special fasteners are provided. To attach plants to the shutter, use removable hooks, small brackets and hangers.
