City on the window

A small glowing city on the windowsill will awaken a sense of fairy tale and magic. The window can be turned into a real panoramic composition by placing houses made of cardboard, paper or ceramics in the foreground and complementing it with a landscape applique on the glass. Garlands of snowflakes or stars should be hung over the town.

The houses are easy to make yourself by downloading and printing the templates, and then gluing the resulting blanks together.

Snowfall

One of the most budget-friendly, simple and effective ways to decorate a window with your own hands is to make a snow garland from cotton wool. The snow-white material does not require any additional processing.

The basis for the craft is thin but strong threads that are hung on a cornice or on a stronger twine. Can be replaced with transparent fishing line. Balls of different sizes should be made from cotton wool, threaded onto a thread with a needle and secured with drops of PVA glue on both sides of the ball.

Glass Painting

Windows can be decorated with paints, depicting any plot on the glass surface.

  • If the picture is supposed to be colored, regular gouache will do – it lays down in a thick layer and is easy to wash off.
  • You can use stencils and toothpaste with the addition of water, as well as artificial snow. To create a snowflake, stick it to the glass with a soap solution and apply the selected composition.
  • A special marker with chalk-based ink is suitable for creating outline drawings.

Gouache painting

Gouache can be easily washed off with ordinary water, but be careful that colored streaks do not get on the frame. To remove toothpaste, fake snow and marker, use glass cleaner.
