Indoor Lilies
These royal flowers can decorate any interior. But if you grow lilies in the house, place the pot with the plant as far away from the bedroom as possible. Their characteristic property is the active absorption of oxygen at night.
Also, a blooming lily has a sharp aroma that can cause a headache. Therefore, if you do not want to wake up in the morning in a broken state, do not put the flower in the rest room.
Cacti
Another unfavorable plant for the bedroom, especially if you listen to the recommendations of the philosophy of Feng Shui. Cactus spines transmit harmful Sha energy, so they can bring quarrels and discord into the house.
But if you love cacti and want to use them in the bedroom to protect the house from negative energy (sharp corners of buildings, factory pipes), move them closer to the window and close the curtains at night.
There is a cactus that is forbidden to put in the bedroom: this is an upright trichocereus with long spines. Its strong-smelling flowers disrupt the functioning of the nervous system.
Dieffenbachia
A spectacular plant with large variegated leaves native to South America. Suitable for connoisseurs of tropical themes, unpretentious, grows quickly.
The flower looks great in any interior, but is not recommended for the bedroom: a small drop of juice from the stem can cause irritation, burning and swelling if it gets into the eyes or on sensitive areas of the skin.
It is especially important to protect allergy sufferers, small children and pets. Chewing a leaf can cause serious poisoning, including anaphylactic shock. Euphorbia has the same dangerous properties.
Common oleander
A poisonous plant with bright pink inflorescences. Requires special care, but in gratitude it grows at a rapid pace, turning into a voluminous and elegant bush.
Unfortunately, a person’s head spins from the pronounced aroma, so putting it in the bedroom is dangerous. In addition, when ingested, oleander juice causes vision problems.
All parts of the plant are poisonous, including the roots, so gloves must be used when replanting.
Monstera
A popular indoor liana that grows to impressive sizes. This green beauty has large patterned leaves. At first glance, they are smooth, but in fact, the surface of the leaf is covered with small needles that can cause allergies.
The monstera’s juice is also poisonous: if it gets on the skin, it can cause burns, and if it gets into the eyes, it can cause burning and damage to the mucous membrane. If you chew the plant, poisoning is guaranteed, which is characterized by a burning sensation in the mouth and inflammation of the digestive system.
It is believed that the flower creates a negative aura, and the spreading leaves, similar to reaching hands, can scare you at night. It is up to you to decide whether to believe in omens, but if you have a child or a pet in your apartment, we recommend that you avoid growing this vine.
Adenium obesum
A beautiful plant that is increasingly common in apartments is absolutely unsuitable for the bedroom and is dangerous for people with asthma. Adenium looks very impressive: green leaves and large red flowers are located on a thick “bottle” stem resembling a tree trunk.
Its picturesque appearance is captivating, but the toxicity of the poisonous leaves, stem, flowers and roots should stop you from growing this plant. If the juice gets into the blood, it will cause intoxication.
Adenium poison is still used by African tribes to poison arrowheads.
Geranium (pelargonium)
Experts are still arguing about whether to put “grandmother’s flower” in the bedroom. Despite all its positive characteristics (it calms the nervous system, repels insects, and has an antibacterial effect), geranium is dangerous for allergy sufferers, animals, and can cause severe headaches during flowering.
If you cough, don’t get enough sleep, or wake up in the morning with a “heavy” head, remove geranium from the bedroom. It is especially dangerous to keep several pots of the flower in the rest room.
Choose safe, odorless, and brightly colored decorative foliage plants for the bedroom. If you are wary of flowers that emit strong Yang energy, cover the plants on the windowsill with a thick curtain.
