Living room. Furniture with hiding places
These unusual designs are suitable not only for those who want to hide their wealth, but also for those who want to unload a small room from small things. As you know, an abundance of souvenirs, wires and other small items clutters the interior, making the room seem even more cramped.
Shelves with a secret do not attract attention: you can put a TV remote control, jewelry inside or hide documents from children. The designs have different opening mechanisms and can be roll-out, folding and removable, and can also be part of a cabinet or hung separately. The top is usually used to store decorative items to decorate the room and (to distract attention).
These shelves are suitable not only for the living room, but also for the hallway: this is a great way to store keys, glasses and a business card holder.
Living room. Hidden gadgets
The numerous devices that surround us everywhere do not always decorate the room. If you want to take a break from them, you should find a special place that hides them. In a small apartment, various electronic devices overload the furnishings, and to disguise them, you can design a special pull-out or drop-down drawer.
A socket hidden inside will allow you to charge gadgets without spoiling the look of the room.
A printer and copier should also not be kept in sight: this is impractical and clutters the room. For devices, you can use cabinets, cabinets or pull-out shelves, as in the photo.
The TV is usually hidden behind facades or sliding modules disguised as a picture: this way the screen is hidden and the decor is decorated.
Kitchen. Hidden shelves and drawers
In the kitchen, especially a compact one, most appliances should be kept in closed cabinets: this way less dust accumulates on them, and the furnishings seem neater. We recommend using every centimeter to use the area as ergonomically as possible.
You can create a separate “garage” for household appliances by using part of the countertop – it will not be visible behind the facades.
For small appliances, spices, bags, bottles and jars, it is worth allocating a pull-out drawer in a narrow wall: the space used here is small, but the benefit from it is great. Don’t forget about the plinths: they are a great option for storing trays, baking sheets and lids.
Kitchen. Roomy seats
Hidden storage can also be organized in the dining area if you put unusual seats instead of chairs and stools: a special bench with a lifting lid or a furniture corner. Wooden boxes will be appropriate in the loft style. And if you strive for originality, put a chest in the kitchen and cover it with a soft pillow.
Bedroom. Drawers in the bed
A bed with built-in drawers below will allow you to rationally use the space in the bedroom. You can keep books, bags, clothes or bed linen inside.
The most convenient designs are roll-out ones. Ideally, they can be removed to clean the dust accumulated under the bed.
The capacity of the drawers directly depends on the height of the bed. A massive podium bed can completely replace a wardrobe: this is especially appropriate in small apartments and studio apartments, where unclutteredness is valued above all else.
Bedroom. Shelves inside the headboard
If you don’t want to fill the space under the bed, you can use the headboard: ready-made designs with built-in drawers are sold, as well as free-standing narrow nightstands. It is very convenient to store things in special compartments – they do not collect dust and are always at hand.
In addition to books, you can store night cream, small decorative pillows, spare bed linen or a blanket inside.
Bathroom. Hidden shelves
Often the space under the bathtub is undeservedly empty, but a functional screen will easily unload cabinets and open shelves, hiding household items. The design can be ordered from professionals, made by hand, or a ready-made screen cabinet with sliding doors can be purchased.
It is important that the ventilation in the bathroom is in good working order and that dampness does not accumulate in the room, otherwise storage under the bathtub will be impossible.
Bathroom. Washing machine
To ensure that the massive appliance does not disturb the aesthetics of the bathroom, it can be hidden inside a specially prepared cabinet-box. The materials usually used are MDF with a durable laminated surface, wood treated with a water-repellent agent, and plastic.
To install a washing machine in a hidden box, you should measure its dimensions and provide some space for communications.
Hidden household items
Various household helpers (ironing board, clothes dryer, vacuum cleaner and mop) do not decorate any interior. Hidden storage systems will come in handy in these cases too:
- a special shallow cabinet, disguised as a tall mirror, is successfully used for the ironing board,
- and instead of a free-standing dryer, a built-in one is often used: wall-mounted or in the form of a pull-out drawer.
Secret office
This unique workplace looks very compact and fits perfectly into any interior. A mini-office hidden behind the facades should be equipped with shelves and a folding tabletop, and for greater convenience – a socket and lighting.
The advantage of a cabinet in a closet is its laconicism: after work or study, the doors are simply closed, and all the little things remain inside.
If you want the chair to be removed inside, choose a model without a back.
The main advantage of hidden storage systems is that they make the interior integral, and also fill the free space that would otherwise be unused.
