Magnets
How nice it is to take a few especially smooth pebbles from the beach! And how difficult it is to find a place for them later. What if you turn ordinary gray pebbles into an eco-friendly and practical decoration?
Glue magnets to pebbles with transparent universal glue – let them hold printed photos from your travels on the refrigerator. This is a great alternative to plastic souvenirs brought from the sea.
The stones are easy to paint with acrylic paints using a thin brush. Simple plant ornaments are trendy today.
Mirror
In order to decorate the mirror, you must first thoroughly wash the pebbles with soap, thereby degreasing them and removing dirt. It is not recommended to use a mirror as a base for pebbles – it is better to cut it out of plywood and glue the material to it. The pebbles stick well to super glue.
Do not hang the craft on the wall until it is completely dry. Use reliable fasteners, as the product will be heavy.
Shower Backsplash or Floor
To decorate the kitchen work area with pebbles, remove the old coating, completely cleaning the wall, and prime it. Apply tile adhesive to the surface with a spatula (up to 0.8 cm thick). Lay the pebbles in a random order or create an interesting composition. After drying, fill the seams with putty or mastic, and then clean the pebbles with a damp cloth.
The shower floor is laid in a similar way. Apply paint or varnish to the finished coating to fix the result and emphasize the texture.
Clock
Pebbles are a great material for decorating. To create a real clock yourself, you will need a cardboard or plywood base, glue and a clock mechanism (sold in craft stores).
- Cover the pebbles with acrylic paints and draw numbers with a permanent marker.
- Decorate the dial according to your own taste: use decoupage, paints, wallpaper or protect the plywood with wood oil.
- Assemble the product – the eco-style clock is ready!
Behind the glass
Pebbles go well with transparent material: glass balances the roughness of the stones and adds airiness to the composition. Place pebbles in a vase or glass jar, add shells – and here is a nautical-style decor already decorating a bathroom or living room.
Pebbles in a transparent glass can easily be turned into an eco-friendly holder for toothbrushes or cosmetic brushes.
Floor decor
Pebbles are often used to cover communications running in the floor. This technique can be seen in cafes and restaurants. Since the material is heavy, the first layer is lightweight expanded clay. The solution looks picturesque, but also performs a practical function.
An unusual use of sea pebbles can be seen in the second photo: the owners of the apartment created an eco-corner in the bedroom, decorating the niche with a full-length mirror and laying stones brought from the sea. The mirror in the niche makes the room visually more spacious, and the pebbles provide an additional decorative effect. The composition can be supplemented with large candles.
Panel
Thanks to the fact that pebbles come in different sizes, shapes and shades, there is no limit to experiments. It can be combined with other natural materials to create original compositions: lay out panels, frame paintings, paint pebbles in bright or pastel colors.
Use transparent glue to fix the elements: this way the finished images will look as neat as possible.
Stand
The products can be used to protect the flooring or furniture from moisture, put flower pots, hot dishes on them or simply set the table. Cork, mesh or rubber are suitable as a base for the stand. The stones are attached in a standard way, with glue.
The pebbles can act as a candlestick: such a stand will protect the coating from dripping wax and fire.
Rug
Sea pebbles glued to a rubber rug not only decorate the interior, but also have a massaging effect. The covering resembles a pebble beach and mentally transports you to the sea. The uneven surface also prevents slipping.
Make a mat for storing wet shoes from a waterproof tray by simply pouring pebbles into it.
Botanical theme
Decorate flower pots with pebbles: sprinkle them on top of the soil to make the plant look more aesthetically pleasing. This technique is not only pleasing to the eye – the upper drainage slows down the evaporation of moisture and reduces the likelihood of splashes. This method has a drawback: it makes it difficult to determine when to water, so it is best suited for succulents.
Create a fun decor from flat pebbles by painting them with acrylic paints and imitating cacti.
Pebbles are a fertile material for all sorts of crafts that you can create with your children. Don’t throw away pebbles: decor made from them can become a useful and beautiful highlight of the interior.
