Panel

You can create an attractive decor in the form of a panel from leftovers or specially purchased wallpaper. Cut out several panels and stick them on the wall, leaving 20-30 cm from the floor and ceiling. This technique is self-sufficient in itself and successfully replaces paintings and posters.

Do not stick a whole panel: let its width be smaller than the standard. Frame the joints with paint with moldings – this will complete the composition, and the defects and joints will be hidden under the beautiful decor.

Headboard

If you are decorating a room with a full-size double bed, use this effective method of decorating the interior. Canvases with a pattern can become an organic continuation of the headboard – then before gluing, you need to take into account the size of the ordered or already purchased furniture.

Glue the wallpaper, going beyond the boundaries of the headboard, but “capture” half a meter to fit in the bedside tables. This way the furniture will fit into the overall composition, and the wallpapered wall will become a unifying background for the items.

You can buy expensive canvases for the area under the ceiling, and paint the lower part of the wall – this is practical and original. Paint gets dirty faster than wallpaper, but it is also easier to wash: it is relevant for hallways and corridors. The technique looks great in a room with high ceilings, making the room appear optically wider and adding personality to the decor.

Choose a paint to match one of the shades in the wallpaper pattern so that the design looks harmonious.

You can play with proportions in different ways. Step back from the ceiling about 40 cm and create a single-color frame using paint. Wallpaper the lower part of the wall. Focus on the height of the furniture – for example, a wardrobe. But be careful if the ceilings are too low – such a division will visually lower them.

Don’t divide the wall in half – let the wallpaper take up either more or less of the surface.

Space division

Using wallpaper, it is easy to zone a room: for example, make the sleeping area in the room more comfortable by pasting them, and decorate the living area laconically – with paint. This technique is especially appropriate in a trailer room – narrow and elongated. This way, a rectangular room is divided into two square parts and looks more proportional, and its irregular shape is not noticeable.

Wallpaper on one wall

One of the most popular ways to decorate a room is to glue wallpaper on one of the smaller walls. To make the interior look bright, it is not necessary to paint the entire room in saturated shades: it is enough to choose colored canvases and highlight only one wall. If desired, they can be replaced in one day – and the decor will be transformed.

If you do not want to use bright colors or prints, pay attention to wallpaper in the same tone as the paint: let it be discreet, but with an interesting unobtrusive pattern or texture. They can be glued to any wall – this will greatly diversify the interior.

You can do the opposite: in order to save money buy plain wallpaper and not waste time on perfectly leveling the walls. Textured wallpaper will hide minor irregularities. It will be much faster and cheaper to prepare a single wall for painting: use a dark range to create visual depth or just a complex noble shade.

The painted area will attract attention and become the main highlight of the decor. Instead of the usual composition, you can use chalkboard chalk to write and draw on the surface with chalk.

Creating accents

Using wallpaper, you can emphasize various architectural features of an apartment or house – niches, ledges, wide doorways – and thereby turn the disadvantages of the room into its advantages. You can also highlight the slopes to make an unusual design object out of the window openings.

Using wallpaper in combination with paint gives unlimited possibilities in interior design. A variety of shades and textures allows you to create an exclusive design, and a wide price range allows you to select materials in accordance with the allocated budget.
